Peter Green & Mac
Yes let's face it, Peter Green is to rock like cream is to peaches. Nevertheless, he was rather underrated as a musician. While my mates were listening to Clapton, Mayall, Page, etc , I moved off the beaten track and took to listening to Fleetwood Mac featuring Peter Green

![]() Fleetwood Mac got basically no airplay on radio stations in my neck of the woods in southwestern Ontario in the late 1960's. Therefore I was entirely unaware of their early British hits such as Black Magic Woman, Albatross, Man of the World and Oh Well. This despite the fact that a buddy of mine had the Fleetwood Mac LP which I never heard him play:
But when I first heard Green Manalishi on Thomas Aquinas' progressive rock show on CFPL radio, I was knocked out and went right out and bought Then Play On which I had also seen pictured in the pages of Time magazine in a story about young U.S. servicemen. I loved the LP and Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac still remains among my top ten favourite bands of all time. The Biggest Thing Since Colossus by Otis Spann with Fleetwood Mac is another LP that's a must for fans of the real Fleetwood Mac: ![]()

Re: Peter Green & Mac
∆∆∆∆ I had forgotten about Green Manalishi in time and one day, while listening to Judas Priest , I bumped into their majestic rendition of the Mac classic , so I went back to listening to early Mac thanx to JP.

![]() It's a fabulous track indeed!
Here's another tune for fans of Fleetwood Mac. It's by Chicken Shack with vocals by Christine Perfect but Peter Green guests on guitar: It's my favourite rendition of this classic blues number! ![]()
