They’ve got some pretty rough vocals,” Hagar said in regards to Van Halen’s recently released Tokyo Dome Live in Concert album.
From what little I have heard from the album I would have to definitely agree with that statement.

Re: Sammy Hagar slams Van Halen live album

I've heard the album. Yes, there are plenty of rough spots from DLR to be had. I think there are a few tunes, mainly the older non-hits like Women in Love and Romeo Delight where he does a fine job for a 60 year old dude. It's not a perfect album by any means, but at least it's really live, at least for the most part. The Hagar era live album was mostly redone in the studio from what I've heard.

What I don't understand is why Hagar can't do any press without bringing up Van Halen and/or Roth. VH has had nothing to say about Hagar since the horrid 2004 reuinion. Sammy doesn't do a single interview without bringing up Van Halen. He's pathetic. Hell, the interviewer even says that in this case, Sammy brought them up without the interviewer even mentioning them. What a jealous, spite filled turd Hagar is.

Re: Sammy Hagar slams Van Halen live album

I'm not a big Van Halen person, but the local radio station was playing some of the live album and I couldn't get over how bad Roth's vocals really are. I think if I were the other members and heard how he was singing, I would have called it a day.

Re: Sammy Hagar slams Van Halen live album

The live album says that there were 44,000 people at the Tokyo Dome show. If I remember correctly, the tours they've done since reuniting with Roth have been sold out or darn near close to it. As long as they are pulling those kinds of numbers, The VH family most likely couldn't care any less what the vocals sound like. They are pulling major $$. They aren't stupid. The reunion tour with Hagar in 2004 saw them playing to many empty seats. They know what the fans want to hear. When fans start showing in less numbers for the Roth shows, they'll either call it a day or they'll hang him out to dry and make another move.

David Lee Roth was never even a passable singer. A raspy, whiny voice with no range.
