I'm super pumped right now. Our own Zombeels turned me on to this band a long time ago (Zombeels actually got me into a lot of good stuff), and I just saw they have another album I dont have that I will be picking up.

Ashley Park is the brainchild of Terry Miles from Canada and they cut a few records that I fell in love with.

(cant believe Youtube even has anything from them)

Damn, they actually have a couple, but I dont think they are offered except for digital. I'll keep looking.

Reminds me of a cross between a poor mans Emmit Rhodes and a poor mans Jagger, but the atmospheric tones just check my boxes. Here's the title track from the one I dont own.

Liked the first song by Ashley Park the best..the second one is kind of boring to me.
Rhodes had a few decent songs years ago b ut never thought that much of him...a bit twee for me.
And did you mean Mick Jagger or The Jaggerz..?

I meant Mick. Miles voice reminds me of cross between Rhodes and Mick. I also eluded to the 'Poor Mans' versions because your not going to get anything ground breaking by Ashley Park. Just the opposite actually. Its always somewhat stripped down and bare,

Ashley Park is a hard sell, but I really dig sitting down with one of their records and burning down. Many will find it mundane and boring per se, but there are moments and it just clicked with me.

As for Emmit Rhodes real quickly. I absolutely love the Merry-Go-Round, but agree with you that his solo stuff is lacking somewhat. As mentioned above, there certainly are moments, but just not enough of them.

I'm a fan of old psych rock and early proto prog... I love that period when bands were trying to be more than just regular rock and were getting weird...'66-'69/70 but not quite prog yet.

Sorry, I did check them out and forgot to mention them. First of all i've had Tomorrows album forever, but havent listened to it in years, but i'm familiar with that (although I look like a dummy for not knowing or forgetting Howe was in the band).

JK and Co. I need to check out more. I love Psych but the constant backwards organ was grinding on me a little. I'm sure I would dig some other stuff of theirs though.

The Fire tune,,,,,love it. I will be checking out more of them. I like the song so much I might just order the album tonight. Glad you turned me on to that.

Psych is a hard genre to deal with. I love it, but my friends hate it so I can only really listen to it by myself and that stinks because you always want to share.

Here's a band I really dig. Dandelion. Love their self titled album. World can always use more psych.

Studio 1970...this is live from 71, I like to think Zep stole that 'elephant wail' from these guys...

Their first 2 lp's are excellent proggy hard rock.
Lawton the singer went on later to do several lp's with Uriah Heep.

Came across this CD today while moving a few around. Canadian band. Cross between psych, pop, and little bit of folk in my opinion. The album itself isnt great, but there's a few on there I like.

I like that...nice psych folk rock....many bands were doing that style in the late 60's.
Skip Prokop formed Lighthouse...I have several of their lps. 'One Fine Morning' is a good one.
