![]() I don't think you would have even raised the point had you not been intrigued by Nanette's looks who incidentally provided backup vocals on Honky Tonk Women. :D |
Re: Obscure Music: Rock, Jazz, etc
Doug & the Slugs are another band that gets little appreciation:

Re: Obscure Music: Rock, Jazz, etc
Another lost classic ...imho...(they remind me a little of Wishbone Ash).... this guitar player, Cross, was young and crazy good but like so many bands never made it big.

:applaud: That's what I call obscure....1969...I never heard of it and I look for those kind of early blues rock things......another band that wanted to be Led Zeppelin....and that's ok in my book. How did you come across them? |
Re: Obscure Music: Rock, Jazz, etc
In response to that band..one of my favorite obscure Brit bands though those in the know...know of it.
I have a cd version...would love to have original vinyl but I am retired these days. ;) |

Another one I never heard of....it's amazing how many of these are out there. Just when you think you have heard of all the obscure bands another one pops up. |
Re: Obscure Music: Rock, Jazz, etc
Just about every classic rock fan agrees that the Animals were a great 1960's band but relatively few are as familiar with their two reunion LPs, Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted from 1977 and Ark from 1983:
![]() ![]() Here's an excellent cut from Ark: I saw the reunited Animals in concert outdoors at the CNE fairgrounds in Toronto in 1983. They basically stuck to the material that they'd recorded to the end of 1965 which was before they started being billed as Eric Burdon and the Animals. It was good to see the five original members playing together. |
