Neither. I can't stand Janis Joplin and I don't get the big deal about Aretha. She would win out over Joplin, if I were to vote.

For some reason I just don't appreciate female vocalists. A few notable exceptions being Kat Bush, Patti Smith, Sandy Denny, Stevie Nicks, Diamanda Galas... a few others.

Ann Wilson would be a better choice than either. I like alot of female artists but after Joni Mitchell and Ann and Nancy Wilson were gone I didn't care about this tournament. I voted for Aretha. Janis is certainly good, but overrated IMO.
