Tori to Air "Beekeeper"

Amos' theater tour kicks off in April

Tori Amos will launch a solo North American theater tour, dubbed Original Sinsuality, in support of her new album, The Beekeeper, on April 1st in Clearwater, Florida.

Due February 22nd, the thematically rich Beekeeper was produced by Amos at her Cornwall, England, studio, and finds the singer-songwriter adding texture to her layered creations by incorporating the Hammond B3 organ alongside her signature Bosendorfer piano.

"It's no different than the worker bees, the females, [that] join with the flower in order to make honey," Amos told Rolling Stone last month. "I was working with the beekeeper symbology already in the music, and it seemed as if real life was reflecting [that]."

Included among the album's nineteen tracks are "Ribbons Undone," an ode to her four-year-old daughter, and "The Power of Orange Knickers," a duet with Irish singer Damien Rice that explores the politics of romantic relationships.

Prior to the intimate jaunt, Amos will head out on a book tour to support the recent release of her autobiography, Tori Amos: Piece by Piece. A summer tour with her band is also planned.

Tori Amos U.S. tour dates:

4/1: Clearwater, Ruth Eckard Hall
4/3: Orlando, Bob Carr Theatre
4/4: Atlanta, Symphony Hall
4/6: Washington DC, Warner Theatre
4/8: New York, Hammerstein Ballroom
4/11: Philadelphia, Kimmel Center
4/12: Boston, Orpheum Theatre
4/14: Detroit, Detroit Opera House

4/17: Grand Prairie, TX, Nokia Theatre
4/19: Denver, Paramount Theatre
4/22: Seattle, Benaroya Hall

Re: Tori to Air "Beekeeper"

She was just on the radio here and sounding a bit like Kate Bush. Must be the Cornish-Celtic influence. Looks like that's going to be a must-have album.
