Here's Bo Diddley on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1955:



His signature tune, Hey, Bo Diddley, was released as a single in 1957. Here's an older, more polished Bo Diddley performing Hey, Bo Diddley on the TAMI Show in 1964:

Interesting that I was fascinated by the lyrics when I was a kid, but I didn't much like it otherwise at the time. It was just too jazzy for my taste.
