Cocaine found on Weiland's tour bus.

Looks like he never fully got over his drug addiction. Cocaine does a number on the heart, so he probably died of cardiac arrest

Scott Weiland Bandmate Arrested, Drugs Reportedly On Tour Bus

A small amount of cocaine was reportedly found in Scott Weiland's bedroom on his tour bus in a search by police and a bandmate of the former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver has been arrested.

Weiland died in his sleep while on the tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota on Thursday, December 3rd. The singer was on tour with his current band The Wildabouts.

Police in Minnesota obtained a search warrant for the tour bus following Weiland's death and according to CBS Minnesota (via Loudwire), they found a small amount of a substance in Weiland's room that tested positive as cocaine.

According to the report, the police also found some of the substance in Wildabouts bassist Tommy Black’s room and he was arrested and is currently being held for possession of a controlled substance.

This is the second death in the band this year, in late March guitar player Jeremy Brown died just before the band released their debut album "Blaster". The Los Angeles Medical Examiner-Coroner's website lists Brown's cause of death as accidental from "multiple drug intoxication".

The human capacity for stupidity never ceases to amaze me, although it should given how much I've seen over the decades.

Death by drugs should be regarded as dying of natural causes for celebrities.

What a sad turn of events. He was so young, to die at 48 is practically like being a child.

I was never the hugest STP fan, they felt kind of like the "bro" version of grunge to me. But they definitely had some fantastic songs. Creep, for example, has always touched me deeply. And their music will be remembered for generations.
