Ace Frehley Performs Full 1978 Solo Album Live

Ace Frehley delivered the first-ever live performance of his self-titled 1978 debut solo album in its entirety during the 2018 KISS Expo in Parsippany, NJ on December 9, and video from the event has surfaced online.

Frehley was backed by members of Gene Simmons' band, who he recently hired after dismissing a group of longtime players. All four original KISS members simultaneously issued solo records at the height of the group's success in the 1970s, with Frehley leading the way in both album sales and singles chart success, with his cover of the 1975 Hello track, "New York Groove", reaching No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Ace Frehley Planning Summer Tour With Music Legend

Ace Frehley said in a new satellite radio interview that he is in talks to hit the road next summer for five weeks with shock rock legend Alice Cooper..

"I have two shows coming up in January on the West Coast," the original KISS guitarist revealed. "We're doing Seattle, Sacramento, and they might even add some shows and bring us all the way down to San Diego.

"And then I think I might be doing some tour dates with Alice Cooper in
the summer. My guys get along with their guys, and I've known Alice forever. So that's always gonna be a lot of fun.

"I think they're talking about July and August - it'll be five weeks. So that can be a really special thing."

Ace Frehley Making Up For Lost Time

Original KISS guitarist Ace Frehley says that he is making up for lost time after finding his creative spark again after dealing with his substance abuse issues.

Ace told Forbes. "Every year I'm away from drugs and alcohol, some of the memory cells are coming back.

"My producing is better and the songs I'm writing are better. Prior to the release of Anomaly in 2009, 20 years went by before I released a record. I find it mind-boggling that I let that happen.

"But when you're under the influence, you lose track of time and you make mistakes. Right now I'm making up for lost time. And I'm having a lot of fun doing it."
