What do you think of Van Halen's first album?

No question. Their early work is tits but they went very far down hill after that if you ask me.

Yep, definitely for me too. Fair Warning, Women & Children and 1984 are all solid but nothing can match their debut.

Yes, it's their best--a shame when a band sets a bar so high they can't reach it again, but it happened...

I think their sound is more fully realized on Women and Children.... I'd say that and the first record are about even.

My thoughts exactly. Women and Children First has always been my favorite VH record! VH I is #2 for me.

I agree. W&CF is my favorite but #1 is close second.

Yes it is! There are others with great songs but this was the album that defined them.
